methonal injection at a glance...dropping engine temps @ idle

Okay, so it was pretty humid today and I decided to top off my AC with a can of R134 in my 1990 TBI 454 Suburban. After driving it around town for about a half hour and idling in my driveway for 15 minutes, the temperature gauge was sitting pretty steady @ 215. I had previously built my own liquid methonal injection kit for the truck but it had been awhile since I filled my container...curious as to how fast it would drop my combustion temps, I added about a quart of solution to my underhood tank. In 5 minutes, the temp went down to 190 and never moved. I turned off the methonal pump and within 3 minutes, the temp climbed to 200. I turned it back on...it dropped back down to 190 in a minute and stayed there for the next 15 mintues until I shut the engien off. Anybody else have any experience using this method-before/after stuff? I've been using it for awhile but I thought it's be cool to share anyway. I've been inching my way to water power assist and methonal has just been one aspect I've been tinkering with.
