You can alway run an X pipe with a set of spintech mufflers. Smooth but very different sounding idle.

Scott is right. I left my old set up for the bigger AFR's / Vic Jr / solid roller / 6" rod / KB pistons / splayed 2 bolt / decked / line bored / which = RPM and HP but at at some $$$$$$$$$$$$ (you get the point)

I guess I should have mentioned this but this will be a "get the car rolling" budget kind of engine hooked to a street T-10 that I have kicking around before I get my "real" engine (600ish hp) with a "real" trans like a Jerico or something so I dont want get carried away with the 406 with a new crank and rods and everything else.

the "real" engine plans however are now totally up in the air, I had originally thought of an ex Busch SB2 (700hp and the motor mounts and dry sump system are already in the car) and a Jerico but Steve Rupp and these guys are getting some very impressive numbers from their LS1s or whatever they are and they run on pump gas which is VERY attractive to me and cant be ignored.......D
