      Anyone used "In the News"?

They want to sell me a framed article of my car---haven't called them back yet--anyone here used them before? Were they worth it?

Yeah, I've used them a couple times. It is pretty neat.
I went ahead and bought it, I mean really, how many times is my car going to actually be in a national mag?! Now Troy doing it? Prolly not worth it to him....he'd have a building full of em!

Got my office covered in them. They do a fantastic job. You might get them to knock off a few bucks but won;t get 1/2 price. For your hot rod room, WORTH IT!

They've contacted me and their product isn't my thing. I'm not that proud of ... er, me or my car that I need to preserve the memory covered under lexan. What I do find especially cool is my 90-year old mother asks to see the magazines and then actually reads them. The "Red Car" adventures are followed closely by a lot of the residents in the assisted living facility where she currently lives and that's even more amazing.

It's a personal thing and there's a lot of you that should do it. Having your car on the cover or subject of a feature story is pretty huge and something the magazines don't bestow lightly.

It's a company that cuts the pages out of magazines with your car feature on them and mounts them nicely for display.

and i suppose it costs more than a copy of the magazine and a picture frame?

It's pricey but if you want a really nice professional job, it's worth the coin.

I've gotten similar Plexi displays from Headlines in Time. They're one of the few things that survived when my house was destroyed. The actual magazines, pictures, and other memorobilia were all lost. As for covers, a cool thing to do thats not too expensive is get a hardboard poster made at Kinkos.

The hobby, artwork, and framing store 'Michaels' is having a 60% off sale right now on their custom frames. I received a coupon in the mail and I'd be happy to mail it to someone if they wanted it. I had my done there when it was 55% off and it was about $350 for what you see below. So maybe $315 now with %60 off. That included their archival quality(UV-proof) glass, double matting(2 shades of blue for mine), and a special 'raised' mounting that allows the pages to appear to be floating off the background(you can't tell by the poor angle of the photo). Anyway, just another alternative to consider.
