DSE Deep Tubs, Outer Wheelwell, and Quarter Panel

I am installing DSE Deep tubs on my 1967 camaro. I also need to replace the outer wheelwell and the quarter panel when I do it. Currently, I'm roughing in the DSE Deep tub so that I have the factory flanges of the outer to go by. Any advice on what steps to do after the Deep tub in replacing the outer and quarter? Thanks guys

No replies..hmm..ok...here is what I'm planning on doing. Please stop me if this isn't right. I am going to finish closing in the frame and the closeouts that you have to do with installing the DSE tubs and then mount the tubs into place and weld them in on the back side around the truck pan. I'm then going to remove the outer wheel well and the quarter panel. Then fit the quarter panel into place and then try to work the outer wheel well in.

I find it easier to remove both the inner and outer at the same time since they sit behind the inner structure of the car. I tack them in place then fit the quarter and adjust the tub assembly as needed. Once everything fits finish welding the tubs and install quarter.

The most important piece it proper fitment of the quarter so your not having to hammer or pull it into postion.

Yea, what Finch said. Plus you will probably end up removing and repositioning the quarters anyway to get it all lined up correctly.

I could be wrong but I think it would be easier to replace the tubs when you have the quarter off. I had my quarters replaced by a body shop and had them leave the outer wells unattached knowing I was going to replace them in the future. There are areas in the top of the outer fender that would be a lot easier to get to if you had the quarter off.

Refer to My build Project Ginger for some pictures. And buy a set of Clecos.
