      1978 Trans am "Eve"

I have been lurking around awile and dont talk much on here but I am getting ready to put the whole car back together. Story goes I have had this car since I was 12 and I will be 17 this year. Got it out of a barn in a town by my house. One owner car and originally Platinium silver with Firethorn red interior and decals. I have tore 3 or 4 different Firebirds and Trans am's apart just to build this one. I know have everything I need to finish her except my floor pan which I will have in the near future. Powerplant is a 400 BBP with around 400 or 425 hp and will get up and go, trans is a 400 turbo. The car will be white with red interior. I want to run a 3 inch tire in the front with a 10 inch tire in the back. I am thinking of Magnum Drags or another weld racing wheel. This car will be a strip/street cruiser not really pro touring but like the site so decided to post it.

Here she is boys the one that is getting put together

Here are some drawings of idead I had over the years

There you go there is my car I will get some progress pics pretty soon if I remember the camera I will hopefully have her running again this weekened if so I will drive her without out the floor pan for a quick spin, that should be fun!

Very cool! Nice to see another TA junkie. My latest project is a 2nd gen Trans Am that is just beginning life at Prodigy Customs. Keep an eye out here for more info in the near future. It is not quite ready for it's own build thread just yet.

I have built a bunch of TAs over the years. Currently have 5 second gens. If you need any questions answered, just let me know. I have lots of pics of the ones I have already done in various stages of repair.

Nice TA. I hope to have my TA done in a couple of weeks. I used to drag race it but, I did a autocross event on the Power Tour and was ruined I mean hooked. It ran 11.50. Now I will have a Heidts front subframe and rear 4 link. I lost about 150 pounds so I'm hoping the tighter suspension and lower weight will cancel each out and I run the same. Don't need a mint stock subframe do you? This is before the subframe swap. Good luck.

My first TA was a 78 that I built from wrecked cars many years ago. I have 76s and 79s now but recenlty bought the fiberglass 78 nose from YearOne just in case... LOL

      Good luck with the project!

thanks for the input seems like the 78 is the most popular. I heard the yearone noses need some work to get to fit right do you know if they do or not?

I will have a 79 freed up, no disc though, as soon as Frank at Prodigy Customs puts the Detroit Speed rear underneath the 79 he has in his shop now. It will be for sale cheap so it doesn't have to make the trip back to SC. Not sure how far his shop is from you though but at least it is in the same state :-)

It is still in the box from Year One so I have no idea how it fits. I got it since it was fiberglass and I could drill holes in it for modern driving lights. I bought a bunch of stuff like the new door panels, the engine turned metal inserts for the door panels and dash. The new console mounted stero adapter, new rear package tray, flush mount wheel flares, etc. Pretty much everything they offered from the BRE car. It is all still in boxes in storage with a bunch of other parts. I have been working on 5 of these 2nd gen TAs, sometimes at the same time, so I have a lot of 2nd gen TA stuff floating around at the moment.

      rims

I had the Ralley 2's because my race rims had really bald tires on them. I did like the stock look. 15's won't fit anymore. I need at least 17's to clear my wilwool front brakes.
