Well dog gone it, crap, shoot and any other that fit!

OK so I am working on 2 projects both on budgets and both looking to be rolling this summer at least then mod from there.
So my machinist came up and we pulled the 283 out from under the trailer and he took it to shop.
This is guy that gave me 6 040 forged flat tops after my buddy who was moving gave me a full 283 short block complete with 7 rods and a factory nitrided steel crank.
And also back when he was needing some other stuff and some cahs I got the set of 461 double humps we had planned to use on his 327 drag engine a few years back, almost done all they needed was one machine in guide and finish the valve job.
They have screw in studs, guide plates, Z springs 2.02/1.60 stainless valves and all,, and I have maybe $150 in everything so far . Also got his new cam, crank and main bearings so all I need are 2 pistons and moly rings and some retainers.
all together this 283 with double humps would have blended well with my Pro-Touring plans and future turbo ideas.
Well it turns out Sealed Power wont have any pistons till end of june.
So my plans change, do I simply put off Monza for month or so and put full force on Caprice or change lanes engine wise.
If it wasnt for this I could have Monza running in short time.
Not done just running and driving.
If it wasnt for having 95 percent of everything needed to build it I would have put it off some more.
Oh well I guess the Caprice can get more attention now, so it better like the big block!

Since you have 95% of the needed stuff why not buy a car with a stock running small block. Swap the engine and then part out the car to get your investment back. Finish your "good" engine as time/parts allow.

I would see if anyone has the pistons on their shelf, what is the part number? I'll check at work and call a few warehouses.
