1st gen hood latch swap ??

Can you swap out the "complete" hoodlatch setup between a 1st gen Camaro and a Firebird??? And by complete I mean from the latch setup in the hood to the latch that attaches to the core support. There are a lot of nice "dresss-up" latches available for the Camaro but not our 'Birds. So I was curious if anyone had ever trans planted a Camaro latch system to a 'Bird before and how easy/difficult it might be.

I doubt it. They are quite different.

Sounds like it would be a whole lot of work, I think you would have better luck fabing up something unique new and different then transplanting the Camaro unit.

have you searched for one with no luck? I think it is Sorensons Pontiac and Restorations that would know where to get one or would have one.

They are very different. I'm heading by Screaming Performance Friday to look at their door panels. I'll take a closer look at the latch on a cpl of their Camaros and see how it looks. Take a few measurements and pics. Never know. May also give me some ideas for an alternative latch.
