      BMR Fabrication

Driveshaft Tunnel Brace for 1st Generation F-Body Convertible
Stiffen up the chassis for much improved handling in your convertible 1st Gen F-body with a Driveshaft Tunnel Brace from BMR Fabrication. Manufactured from 1/8” CNC laser cut and CNC formed steel, this driveshaft tunnel brace replaces the OE stamped unit with a much stronger version. The BMR Driveshaft Tunnel Brace (DTB003) features a gusseted design that bolts to the original mounting holes yet provides an additional 2” of exhaust clearance without sacrificing ground clearance. No welding is necessary. Provided with new grade 8 mounting hardware. Installation time is only 30 minutes. Available in black hammertone or red powdercoat.

What does this thing bolt to? The sybframe body mounts? I assume it could be used in a coupe to further stiffen the chasis right?

It fits the convertible only. The convertible models already have a reinforced floor pan that ties together across the tunnel with a bolt-on factory brace. Our brace replaces the OE brace, providing more strength and more exhaust clearance. Without extensive fabrication, it would not be possible to use this brace on a hardtop car.

      OE brace above.
