      Need help with Vortec heads

I know this isn't the right forum but there hasnt been alot of traffic in the exhaust forum and I need help quickly. Please forgive me.

I just built a mild 355 with Vortec heads for my 64 Chevelle and I cant get the headers to seal for the life of me. Has anyone been through this and can anyone recommend a specific gasket that will seal the rounded square exhaust ports on the heads to the oval ports on my headers?

I have tried several types, aluminum, copper, etc with no luck.

Have you tried a little hi-temp gasket sealer? Also, if your header flange isn't perfectly flat, you will have problems.

It seems to me you may have a bent header flange. I had them on a 77 Chevy Truck and standard headman headers without issue.

Have you tried those "Percy's" brand multi-layer aluminum gaskets ?..
They work great on my engine..
Of course, I don't have vortec heads..
