      Project "Ooh $#!+"

Its a 1979 Trans Am... I bought it with no motor no trans no seats.. The body was over all in good shape only a couple of rust spots on the fender and pass side floor... Other than that a solid starting point
      Plans so Far
1998 LS1 /w 4L60e picked that up a week ago... (using BPR motor mount kit not sure what I going to do for transmissin cross member was thinking of using stock one just moved back)
Sent the harness to LT1 wiring last week (should be done by next week)
For brakes I am doing C5 up front not sure what I am doing for the rear
I order SC&C upper and lower control arms
I have wheels 20x10 rear and 18x8 fronts no tires
I removed the subframe and started cleaning it up and getting it ready for the new parts.....

BRP sells the crossmember too. I got the whole "kit" for my car...it's made for a 4L60E. One note, I did have to notch the frame slightly where the crossmember goes to get the correct pinion angle.

She does look to be in good shape. It will be a cool ride when done.
For the rear (& depending on your budget) you can go with the stock setup that came on the LS1 camaro & firebirds. BRP sells the adapter plate for $40. If you want bigger you can go with the vette stuff or Wilwood. 1979 was the 1st year for rear disc on firebirds so you could also just get some drilled or slotted stock disc to match the C5 rotors you are going with.

What other mods are you doing (suspension, interior, etc)?

For the rear I am going to get Pro Touring F-body spring front and rear... With soild body bushing and subframe connectors...
My goal for the next few weeks is to get everything all cleaned up and back to a clean roller... Then I will start on installing the power train...
Interior still unsure on that want to do a 4 gen set up but want to keep things clean and simple ( trying to stay away from the cheese factor)

That 4th gen dash almost looks made for the car. How much work do you think he has in it to get it to that point?

This last week I have not made any head way on the car... But I have been ordering parts and planning this build out a little more.... I order a custom works c5 brakes kit I am using ls1 calipers with c5 abutments... I also pulled the trans am dash, and sent the guages out to be wired with the rest of the harness

The motor I bought was DOA... But I was able to find a 2000 vette motor with very low miles.... I should be get my harness and ecu back here in a few days.... Over the past few weeks I was able to get the front subframe complete
