Sounds like a good plan. What's the VBP suspension you are going with?

Good luck! I'm surprised there aren't more vettes on this forum.

Im gonna do the grand touring plus system. Ive never seen a c3 done in all black like this so it should be pretty cool. Also I should add im 23 and this car is the first corvette I ever rode in, in the 7th grade! I have always wanted it and finally after the previous owner let it go way down hill convinced him to sell it to me.

I'm tuned into this one. I have a 79 l-84 that I am about to tear into. Mine ain't downhill though, it's a 75k mile survivor. She is black on black already. snakeater

      Sounds like a cool project
Have you looked at the VB&P performance plus kit?
I've had the VB&P performance plus kit on my '69 for about 2 years now. It is an awesome setup- being able to adjust spring rates and ride height in 15 minutes is really cool. If I were to do it again though, I would piece it together myself. I plan on replacing the upper control arms with the SPC tall ball joint arms (gives you a better camber curve), and some kind of double adjustable shocks instead of the bilstiens (Bilstiens are too stiff for my car- weight is down to 2960lbs wet). I find the rear swaybar they give you is too big (3/4"). I've been running with no rear bar, looking for a factory style 9/16" bar. Look into the 5-links offered ($$$) or design one yourself (5 or 6 link).
I also noticed you didnt say anything about some kind of upgraded steering system... I fabbed up a quick ratio manual rack and pinion for my car and absolutely love it. Of course there is the steeroids/rack attak kits or the new bourgeson kits to look at also.
www.vettemod.com has alot of really great info on serious corvette modifications from some reputable (IMO) people.

Nice rendering. I think the car will look fantastic.

be careful though with the ride height. as it is in the rendering, the side pipes will be maybe 2" off the ground. headered side pipes look great but absolutely kill ground clearance on c2/3 corvettes. I still love them though

mascoll, the rendering looks great but you may want to change the black background to a gray or some other color that's dark but still allows people to see the front profile lines on the car. i think this would show off the hood work a little better. Just a suggestion.

Bringing this back from the lost projects file. Funny how life gets in the way of car projects. I have kind of shifted gears on this, it now has a LS1/T56 installed and being wired at the moment. Making the side exhaust headers work with the LS1 was way easier than I thought, cut the old flanges off, weld LS flanges on and bolt up. I have decided that it will be flat white instead of flat black. Im going for more of a road race look with the car now. Should have some new pics up soon.
