Newbie from Colorado
Hello all,
My name is Andrew, I'm 27, married with an almost 2 year old son. I live in Colorado. I just moved here from New York where I had to leave my beloved Nissan Maxima behind.
I have always wanted a muscle car. I narrowed my search down for a few select models and makes. I narrowed it down to the Camaro and the Nova.
I found a 69 Nova which is local to me for $1700. I went and saw the car, made an offer of $1500 which was accepted. I picked it up last week and placed it in the 3rd bay of my garage.
It has hardly any cancer. It has an inline 4, and it does/did run.
I'm very excited about it. I plan to put an LS1 motor in it, and improve the suspension with a drop.
This is the first time I'll be tackling a project like this. I know very little about disassembling a car and then putting it back together. But I fell as if I can do it with a lot of research and patience.
Thanks for reading,
Andrew

04-22-2010 #5Stripped the interior. The A-pillars and B-pillars are trash. The headliner is no good. The dash is no good. The sun visors and rear view mirror are in good shape and will be salvaged. I may try and sell the seat belts. They're GREEN
I got a better shop vac and cleaned up the carpet, and it should be salvageable too.

04-22-2010 #6That's where I am right now. I'm going to strip the front clip off and remove the subframe and see what kind of shape it's in.
If it's in good shape, I'll reuse it. I'll have it sand blasted and then powdercoated.
