      Project 64 1/2 Mustang

Ok im new to the forum but my project has been in the making for a little while now. I have a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang and im still looking for new ideas of what to do next. I just completed a efi conversion on the car with a built motor from a 1991 5.0 mustang. I also removed the 3speed manual transmission that was originally in the car and installed a T5. I just recently ordered 18x8 Boss 338 rims that come in today (cant wait to pick them up). So feel free to shoot me new ideas of what I should do next, but I think my next step will be the 13" cobra front brake conversion.

looks nice.. but would look even better is if you lower it with the new wheels, and put some nice brakes on it. and a supercharger

Definitely upgrade your brakes. I would look at an upgraded MC and new brakes lines if the old ones are original to the car. After brakes I would look at a Arning/Shelby drop for the upper control arms. Roller spring perches, boxed upper and lower control arms, subframe connectors. Swap/replace front and rear springs if they are original as well. A bigger front sway bar would be very beneficial. I would not recommend a rear sway bar.

Being a 64.5, your car is fairly rare, personally, I would try and avoid any major modifications, like cutting or drilling a bunch of stuff you dont need. I would look for bolt on upgrades as much as possible.

A great source for suspension parts is http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/ . John is a great resource.

IMO, it looks great with the new wheels, but could stand to be lowered 1-2". Also, if you're going to lower it, do the Shelby Drop at the same time.

look up daze and falcons. do a google search. He has some good do it yourself info.

Ron morris and TCP sell templates and I made my own.

Some shelby site for mustangs has a paper copy in the back of their catalogue.

They're available all over the www in the Mustang forums. I've also seen a few companies that offer a jig that bolts into the existing control arm holes and you just drill through the jig's template.

I never used a template on my car. I found a drawing on tffn.net and just used the measurements, a ruler and a level to make new hole positions.
