Spoke with engine builder this morning 5:00 a.m. my time 8:00 a.m. his. He says he found problem with rear main seal and thinks leak up front was coming from intake. Hope he's right.

He said he would be shipping it back today. Need to get it back soon so that I could make the Spectre 341 challenge.

Probly going to have to put it in after work. Shouldn't be more than 5 hours work to get on the road again.

Only thing that sucks is that I will be working overtime all week next week and will be beat trying to put it in.

Dead lines, Dead lines,......seems the norm lately.

Picked up motor from shipping terminal today. Flywheel, clutch, and bellhousing installed tonight. Dropping motor in car tomorrow. Should wrap it up Wednesday. Plan is to drive and tune Thursday and leave for Reno Thursday night or Friday morning to Spectre341challenge.

LMAO, a T56 has to be heavier than an M-22. Well, at least we're gettin' a workout, LOL.

Yeah, I confess, I've whimped out too.

Buying proper tools is bad enough, but I've gone from a manual steering big block, an arm wrestling toploader with a seeming 2 1/2 foot shift throw, a clutch pedal that you nearly had to use two feet to push it down, to power steering, TKO, and a clutch assist spring...

Guess I am getting old LOL

Let us know how the engine goes, after you patch up your knuckles ;)

Funny you mention knuckles, last time around I sliced my right hand fore finger Knuckle close to the bone and kept working and banging it for two days.

Hand swelled up and ended up having to get a tetnis shot and 10 days worth of antibiotics. Now I have a permanent lump on my knuckle from an enlarged bone build up on top of knuckle, lol.

I lost 3 good friends from staph infection complications. Most injuries were very small.

Wow just read through this entire thread, besides all the issues with the engine your build is certainly coming together nicely. I hope they fixed your issues with the engine and they will actually stand behind their product.

      Awesome!

Great news about the engine repair, and that the builder treated you right about fixing the leaking seal problem. It sounds like you should be back at the track soon with a good strong leak free engine!

      Keep the updates coming!

Yes John, thanks for asking, motor was dropped in and finally fired up Thursday night. I left for the 341 Challenge Friday morning at 4:00 a.m and got there at 7:00 a.m.. Other than having trouble breathing at elevations between 5000 and 6000 feet all went well and had no oil leak problems.

Thanks Guys, everything seems to be good. The 341 Challenge was a sketchy place to flog the car and I came across two minor issues.

For one, when I went full throttle the dip stick popped up and oil sprayed up the tube onto the header shedding smoke behind me but I fixed that by safety wiring dipstick down.

Other was losing one of the bolts that held my shifter to the linkage which made me mishift into third twice on one run and four times on another but that was easily fixed.

I am now out of money so I am done for awhile but hopefully in the winter my next projects will be aero and cleaning up sheetmetal such as smoothing fire wall, enlarging trans tunnel with inspection cover, and sheetmetal where the back seats used to be.
