I think I found my new PT project!

I found me a 79 Z28. Its 98% solid and 100% original. She has been a GA car her entire life.I'll post more detail after the purchase.

For you the picture junkie in us all:

Let me know what ya think.

Looks like a nice start. I'd love to see what you've got planned for it.

That is the one car that I totally love and have never owned. It was the high school car that I wanted so bad but yet I could not afford..

      congrats..

Thanks for the nice comment guys.

Yeah I not a big fan of T Tops.

PS. Jay, I'm thinking gold strutters with brushed lip in 18s to keep the factory color scheme.

figures its an auto; 4 speeds were an option but just about everyone got the auto.
cool find, esp one that hasn't been redneckmodded beyond decency.

The cheapest bone stock 4 spd I could find was 6500. For the extra money diffence in cars I can TKO this car and have a 5spd instead of a wore out 4spd. Plus that is the right miles. The 4spd car had 119k, So you know the 4spd was due for a rebuild.

I had a 78 Z28 years back....nice car, lousy build quality...lol. Check out Pro-Touring F-body for all the bracing and suspenion gear you'll want....I've got lots of his stuff going into my 71 Firebird project and so far it all fits real nice.
Good luck with it....gotta lose that steering wheel...what the heck were Chevy thinking with those????? lol

I had a metallic, root-beer brown one myself for a few years. Great handling car in stock form!

love it. had an 80 Z28 just like this, same color and strips but a 4 speed that my father bought new and gave to me in 1995 to only turn around and sale it out from under me. it was a sad day for this 17 year old kid at the time. i have even tried to find the car and still no luck
