      A fish outa water?

      Hi folks,

I am an old time hot rodder who has been smitten by the three pointed star. My project is not an American Muscle car but a 1987 Mercedes 560SEC with a bit of tweaking. I have done several engine conversions on MB cars and this one is sporting a V12 from a 1993 600SEL with a few mods and it will be sipping fuel via MegaSquirt and my own fuel system.

How do ya'll feel about a Zeppelin hot rodder? I have played with many an American car and my once owned list includes 67' Mustang FB with a 427 medium riser, 67' Nova SS, 1969 and 1970 AMX's, several ElCaminos and a few old trucks. You guys probably my idea of hot rodding better than any other group and I would love to build a Nova or Camaro some day!

      Steve

      Wow,

I thought I would just fad away into obscurity!

These are a few pics, the last pic is a factory electronic throttle body and a modified 70mm Ford that will replace it.

The album has many more detail shots

I think you will find that this board is populated by "car guys." You really don't even see much of the Chevy/Ford rivalry here. Everybody appreciates somebody who is building a car that is faster, cooler, and better in some way. Cool build, my uncle has always had MB's and they are great cars.

Here is a picture of my red car and my partners car in front of our old shop. The red car had a Paxton on the stock engine and the gray car had mildly ported heads, cams and exhaust. Both cars are 18"s and have several other mods.

First, welcome. Second, eurotrash is always cool! I'm not sure if many would call it "pro-touring", but I'm not much for labels personally. I am empathetic with the "fish out of water" feeling with my XR4TI project, though folks here are always cool with anything built in the right spirit.

That looks like you need a shoehorn to get that in there. Cool project.
