I cleaned the frame and firewall up some. Also removed the old SB motor mounts and ground down the frame to accept the new mounts for the LS engine. As soon as the Edelbrock swap headers arrive I should be mocking everything up.

The LS2 cam chain assy requires a plastic "tensioner" a plastic block that bolts to the block with two bolts, or a different type that has rubbing blocks on the outside of the chain. Do you have a tensioner?

It's not required David but I recommend the pieces. It gives stability to the chain at high RPMs especially. The chain and gears will function just fine without the guides though. I've used LS2 chain and gears on an LS1 without the guides no problem.

Yeah i did some research on this before I went ahead and purchased it. I dont have the tensioner but everyone i have talked to has said it would be fine without it.

Made a template and cut out some sheet metal to shave the firewall.

We stabbed the engine and transmission today. The oil pan, headers and everything fits great!
