With those cross-members the only real change in them is the mounting height for the trans mounting bushing correct? I have the 200r4 version and was just going to weld on a tab for the t56 when I got to that point.

No real updates.....life has been getting in the way now. I might have a hernia so that will put me out of commission for a while I think....time will tell.

My next step is to install my Canton oil pan...so I can then install my flywheel and Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. After that the pedal assembly and hydraulics will go in and the trans can be bolted in for the last time.

Then its on to the new rear end....measure for a new drive shaft...install suspension....etc etc etc.

Here's what we did to modify my existing G-Force to work with the T56. I was the designer while my friend John was the lead engineer and machinist. Thanks John...

The T56 transmission mount needed to be about 1 1/4" lower and and inch or so towards the front than the 200R4 mount was, so we cut a C-notch out of the front of the g-Force cross member.

Then tack welded plates to box the C-notch in and tacked a new mounting plate at the right height inside the notched part.

Then took it to the car and test fit to make sure everything was correct before final welding.

We got the height perfect. I removed the rubber bumper on the top of the T56 and the tail shaft height is now in just about the exact same height as the 200R4 was and I can fit a straight blade screw driver between the rear two cover bolt heads and the floor pan.

      200R4

      T56 on new mount

John finished welding it up and I painted it up and it'll be ready to go back in tonight.

Thank you for the pictures Lance. Seems like a pretty easy thing to do to save a few coins since I have that cross-member already.

I thought I would buy the T56 one to save some time......but we all can see that I'm taking my sweet time with these upgrades as it is.

Soooo while the rear is out getting built I have started the suspension parts swap.

First step was to assemble my new ridetech TQ series coilovers.

Here are the springs. Fronts are now 800# (used to be 900# on the single adjustable coilovers) and the rear springs are 275# (up from 250# on my singles).

And here we have a ridetech TQ Coilover for the front of a G Body...when using the ridetech lower control arms.

The first step in assembling these coilovers is to put on the lower spring mount/adjuster. This is usually done from the bottom of the shock but this is not possible on the TQ series due to the reservoir hose...so the lower spring mount needs to go on from the top. This is a seriously tight fit so the guys at Ridetech gave me a lil trick of the trade.......put a thick washer in the open space on the spring mount to widen the inner diameter and the mount will slide right over the shock body to the threads. BINGO!!!!!!!!!
