Got some new decals on the car recently. Finally got some decals from my shop on there...Dual-Lit-Kustoms!!

Also got some decals so I can rep Centerforce Clutches on the car!! I will have a couple larger ones on the car once final placement is decided. Can't thank them enough for partnering up with me on this project!!

The reverse lockout thingy is very close and people have said to just use a hammer and beat the floor out of the way. I'm not doing that so we will have to trim some more and I will just make a sheet metal cover for it all once it's done.

So as stated above I needed to make a relief cut for the reverse lock out thingy (very technical term there).

I used a Milwaukee 4" Sawzall blade in an air saw and it cut through the floor board/trans tunnel like butter!!

Here's a comparison of the GForce ( www.crossmembers.com ) 200-4R and the T56 crossmembers. GForce states that the T56 crossmember was actually designed using an LT1 T56 and it fits differently with an LS style T56. Thankfully my T56 is the LT1 version. WIN!!

T56 on top...200-4R on the bottom

And this is how it fits in an 88 Monte Carlo SS with a T56 out of a LT1 Camaro.

This is why I haven't really worked on the car in the last couple weeks. Between traveling to events and getting other stuff done around the house and shop I haven't had any time to dedicate to the car. It's been a crazy summer!!

Hey Doug, I really think you'll be happier with the results if you work on a way to raise the back of the trans at least an inch or so. You've got the room now, no reason not to do it. Go until the top of the trans where the rubber bumper is is just off the floor.

      Lance,

I did think that the trans was too low but the rubber bumpers on top are about a 1/16" away from hitting the trans tunnel. I remember from our conversations that this is where yours was at.

I don't know why it is different but yes I agree that the trans does seem too low. If I raise it then I would need to do more cutting. We shall see.

How are your body bushings? Have you ever replaced them? Wondering if the body is sitting lower on the frame than mine?

Are you going to be welding in some sheet metal to close out that hole at all?
