      new guy with a clone

Hello to all on this awesome forum,

I have been lurking on this site for awhile now and finally got some time to make my first worthy post. I have a 1970 buick skylark which i have been wanting to clone to a GSX for sometime. I bought it at a classic shop i worked at for a few years and the hot georgia summers finally killed the old sbb 350 2bl. Being in college and tight as money is these days...there is no way i can afford to drop a 455 in it as well as install all the other necessities a 455 swap requires. Instead, it has a rebuilt high compression 4bl 350 now with 12 inch front disc brakes and new coils and shocks. the new brakes reign supremely dominate over my cracked 40 year old drums...Along with a fiberglass GS hood, spoiler, new paint, and the awesome hood mounted tach...this thing drives and looks like a totally new animal. The interior has alot of work coming but unfortunately this project is on standstill until I get back home from school. I love so many rides on this site Im glad I can finally add to the mayhem! take it easy everyone

Nice looking machine..Welcome aboard. Always loved the 70-72 GS and GSXs. The short stroke 455 seems to get the job done better than any other 455 from GM. Now you just need the 455, some buckets and trade that column shift for a floor shifter and console after you finish school.
