      OBDII not reading...

im having some issues with my LT1 powered 69 camaro. The engine is out of a 95 Trans am. ive been having a bad idle issue since i installed the engine over a year ago. itll not want to idle when first strated, the idle will flucuate from 400 to 700 and swing around wildly. after 30 seconds or so it will jump to 900 and stay there.

This whole proceedure will happen everytime i push the clutch in and slow down. So after cleaning the IAC and MAF sensors to no avail i tried to hook the computer up to my uncles scan tool. this scan tool works fine on my cousins LT1s, but it cannot connect to my PCm for some reason. It has a mail in tune from PCMs4less.

any ideas whats happenein with with either the idle or my PCM? thanks

Just curious if you have read your OTHER post on the same subject yesterday? Myself and a couple of others tried to give you some advice but you end up posting the SAME question again? https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=66827 Don't understand.....

Are you sure you have an OBD-2 computer, they didn't start that until 96. I tried to give you some info about it in the last post.

i realized it wasnt posted the most ideal category so i reposted it here but was unable to delete the old one. Yes, my computer is an OBD 2 not an OBD 1, this i know for sure.

95 is OBD1 which would also explain why the OBD2 scanner couldn't read it as well as why you may be having problems with the tune. Are you sure you have the correct ALDL port? How are you confirming that the PCM is OBD2? Bryan Herter definitely knows the difference between OBD 1+2 since he gets to charge more for the OBD2 stuff. ;)
Also, are you using an aftermarket throttle body or stock? I'm running a 58mm BBK that had to be modified to allow the IAC to function at idle and the feed hole is still a little small, but we're working on it.........

One other thing, check your coupler between the MAF and throttle body for rips, tears, or leaks especially under the hose clamp that secures it to the throttle body. Any un-metered air will cause some serious idle fluctuations as well as intermittant steady-state cruise problems.
