Another 67' chevy II *lots of pics!*

Hey guys, kinda new to the site. Ive been gandering a bunch and figure'd i'd post up our recent project.

Were a fresh starting business with 2 23 year old guys wanting to do something good! both went to the good ol' Wyotech, street rod/coll. ref./trim and upholstery.

we put together a small 30x30 shop to start out in, and so far, its not bad. weve had 2 complete interior jobs in and out, a bunch of small stuff, a start on a 38' ford business coupe, and now a 67' chevy II post.

this car is a pretty extensive restoration, solid where it counts, but still a bit of rust. the guy bought it from GA originally thinking it would be a quick job, but everyone knows how those turn out.

plans, make an SS clone, (as far as interior and badging goes,) tremec 5 speed, 420+ cubic inches, TCI front and rear suspension, and just a badass old muscle car with good handling, driveability, A/C, power steering and disc brakes around, and looks. it sure wont be an *ironworks* car (hopefully someday), but fun none the less...

      heres a start.!

thanks guys,.. ill definetally be taking lots a pictures for this one, seeing how its our first big job. should be fun.

after showing the guy about 100 pictures of different novas/chevyII's, and with an abundance of pro-tour'd look ones, he leaned more tward the type in the picture below.. which is alright by me by all means!

the guy has 2 pulling tractors which he won the outlaw points this last year, and the car will be the same color as his tractor..

he did like the idea of the widest rear tires we could fit under it, and with it needing work on the tubs, we just figure'd well go with DSE's deep tubs. This way, we can fit a 315 under there.

heres a couple more shots during the teardown.

floors gone. bad. gotta love the makeshift 4 speed hole.

they had 1/8th inch aluminum sheets laying over all the holes under the carpet. so it was indeed solid then.

got about an inch by inch patch in the trunk pan, but other than that, its pretty solid.

the motor is a 010 block, with a street dominator and a v/s 750. M20 4 speed, and a MSD 6al mounted with one bolt. hahaha someone really wanted to go fast on a budget.

Another day with the teardown, about finished ripping things off besides the tubs. Gotta pick up a welding bottle tomorrow then ill get started on the patch panels/rust repair.

TCI's suspension is going to be here tomorrow, so ill be sure to snap some shots of the goods!

DSE tubs are ordered and on the way.

Trying to get hooked up with a rotisserie for blasting/painting the underside. Anyone have any suggestions? Were kinda looking towards the Auto-Twirler.

The last picture is the latest addition to the shop. awesome.. enough said.

Welp, got some rust repair in the making. The two front lower pillar spots, we have to wait untill we get the new cowl sides to see where to rebuild the pinch weld to.

Got some parts pictures for ya as well. Threw the front suspension together to make sure everything works / and that everything is there. We just had to run a tap into the A-arm sway bar endlink holes.

Got all the rear suspension parts as well. We will be going with a 9" rear, and will be centering the pinion.

Right twards lunch today we got DSE's deep tubs in as well. Checked out the video and it seems pretty self explanitory. The kit comes with templates and everything is a real clean/factory looking installation.

The only thing were wondering as of yet, is how the TCI 4 link is going to fit under there with the deep tubs. Anyone else know/seen? I guess well find out!

      enjoy!!

Thanks strtcar, weve hit a couple tough spots with the business as most starting shops do, but hopefully this will be the big start of it all. Well, to a smaller extent at least. It's been fun!

      Nice progress so far!

Our 4-link will need just one small modifcation to work with the DSE tubs. The outer/upper lip of the coilover crossmember will need to be modified to fit the newly reshaped frame rail. Everything else will work perfect as supplied.

If you have any questions just give me a call, my direct line is in my sig.
