      Hello everyone......

My name is Sean, I am from central Illinois and a lifelong gear head.
I first got the fever when my Dad got me a subscription to a couple of hot rod magazines @ around age 5, then I got a go-cart @ age 11 which lit the Need4Speed fire, the GC progressed to cars as a hobby @ 16 when I got my 79 TA. I decided why not turn my hobby into a profession @ 25 so I enrolled in Universal Technical Institute's auto/diesel program. I finished UTI top of my class with a 3.91 GPA and received an award for being the top student in 15 of 21 classes. Needless to say I am very proud of what I accomplished in school.

Why did I register with this site?
Well after reading several posts here I decided that there are MANY very intelligent and experienced members here so I have a chance to improve my understanding of the more advanced things that are outside of my typical gear head realm. I do have what I consider a very good understanding of general engine/drivetrain stuff but limited knowledge on chassis design, suspension design, aerodynamics, etc.

The motivation behind my thirst for additional knowledge: (my project Psuedo 442 FWD2RWD)
      C6 Z06 drivetrain and suspension
      Coil over conversion
      LS7 B&S to 4.130x4.125 (442cid)
Custom frame based on Morrison MaxG

      Some background on the car:
This was my Dad's car which was bought new and left to me when he passed. I repainted and rebuilt or replaced virtually everything for him 1 year before his passing. It has been kept in storage since then as I vowed it would not see the street again until I had turned it into something as unique as he was. It is one of my most prized possessions due the memories created in it in the 15 years my Dad drove it.

Ok want to make sure I am getting this right. You are going to take the FWD Cutlass and make it rwd right? If so i have already kinda looked into this. The G-body Cutlass wheelbase is only off like a half inch from the wheelbase of your car. That may make it very easy to do. BTW welcome to the forum.

Yes that is the plan never seen one and want something unique. I was originally looking at placing a factory frame under the car and considered the G-body which is close 108" vs the A-body 104.9". The width difference also concerned me a bit since the G-body uses a perimeter frame. I decided it would be easier in some ways to use a custom chassis especially since I will be using a C6 drive train. The benefits of the custom design are well worth the time and money IMHO.

Welcome! I know of someone who did that to an Alero. He used an S-10 chassis and a tpi small block. Kool setup.
