      Antifreeze?

After removing my lower radiator hose and water pump I found a small amount of crystalized antifreeze. In order to prevent this in the future what antifreeze recommendation do you suggest?

I run Prestone. I change it every other year. I don't care for the Dexcool orange junk. I had a lot of problems in my 94 Z-28 with that garbage.

I also run Prestone but I think it may have been awhile since I changed it. I guess I will increase my maintenance as well as add a zinc anode.

Use either pre mix, or full strength with distilled water.

I know I'm not suppose to but I may have not used distilled water the last time. Thats what you get for cutting corners!

OK so why is everyone building pro-touring yet using stock coolant

Fellas give Evans Cooling a call and if you run older copper/brass radiators look at NPGR if you have newer aluminum large tube rads look at NPG+.
375 degree boiling point, at least 40 below freeze point and if your antifreeze is strong enough slush is good, solid isnt.
SOME coolants will get slushy but the instant a little heat hits it its back liquid.
      The stuff is awesome http://www.evanscooling.com/assets/p...olantFlyer.pdf

for cooling yes not freeze protection, but honestly give Evans Cooling a shout. Expensive yes but awesome products.

X2 on the evans NPG+. it's doing a great job in my monte.
read the reviews on the site of it's use in rigs. IIRC 1million miles with no corrosion or extreme wear. it does turn brown with use, but it doesn't degrade. it may actually be a "lifetime" coolant.
