      Fender Lip Rolling

So i have 275 35 18s on the back and i find when i have somone in the car with my the passsenger side rubs on certain bumps and when i get on the throttle so it looks like im going to have to get the lips rolled. I have called some body shops around my place to see if anyone of them would do it some will but its gonna cost like 100 a hour and to be honest im not sure if i trust the work , i always do my own work.
Anyway i have read a bit about it i know there is lip rolling tools but they cost upwards of $200 and i cant justify spending that much for a tool i may only use once, do any of you guy have any experice doing this? is there any how to articles that would help?.

      Thanks
      Nick

Yeah i have tried that i found it just got pushed into the tire, plus im worried about damaging the outside of the quarter panel. i think i would rather spend the money on a tool. have any of u guys used this bottom one its cheaper than the eastwood but looks a little more risky.
i mean if i have to i would buy the eastwood one but im looking at my options right now.

I’m actually having that taken care of by Ed at Fast Eddies in Orange, ca, but he told me that it would be better to have the lip cut off. So I guess I’m having the lip cut off.

Google 'fender lip roller' and you might find a place that rents the tool...

I just bought an Eastwood one off Craigslist for $180 shipped. What I have found is that you can get "most" of your money back by buying one, using it then selling it. If it costs me $50 to use it then sell it it's not a bad deal.

Eastwood tool is pretty good, I have used both baseball bat and the EW tool, much prefer the EW tool especially once you get the hang of it.

I have the fender roller and use it very often, it's not that hard to roll/fold the lip, as long as you know what you're doing and keeping eye on everything, don't forget the heat gun.

remember, it's better to do 50 passes slightly adding pressure than jamming the roller in and try to do it in 3-5 passes,

sometimes it is better to just cut the lip off, because when rolling the lip, some cars tend to end up having "the window treatment" look, the metal between each spotweld droops down and goes up as it gets to the spotweld .

which car are we talking about here?

Better yet, search right here on PT.com. There are 2-3 people that rent them here.

I didn't realize that....I was going to suggest trolling over on NastyZ28.com, there are a few guys over there that will rent them out also.

I bought and sold one on here recently (for alot cheaper than a new one was). The roller isn't that hard to use. Look on Youtube, there are a couple of videos that will give you an idea on how they are used. It took me a couple of hours to do it (once I figured the tool out). Just start slowly and be sure to use a heat gun (prevents the paint from cracking). Take your time, no need to get in a hurry. Like Damn True said, post a want ad and you will get a response.

Is the car in finish paint? I normally cut the lip off and role a piece of 1/4" round stock to remake the lip.

Me personally, I rolled my front fenders with a big hammer, had someone put pressure on the outside part of where it was being hit, not warps, and if you take your time the roll will look nice too.
I'll give yall a picture of what mine look like tomorrow, and that lip there is for strength if I'm correct.
      Cutting it weakens the panel..
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's how I did mine; I used an airsaw to cut the sections up to my tape line, then bent the sections by hand and finished up with a body hammer.
