what headers to go with...

putting my other 5.0 into my 64 1/2...was wondering what headers options I have...if I should go with long tube or shorties...I don't have alot of room to work with unfortunately

I dont know how much room you have compared to a 67? But a friend of mine went with the Hedman Elite longtube headers for 302 equipped 67 (original 289 car). 1 5/8 primaries with a 3 inch collector. We chucked the Hedman gaskets and went with Fel-Pro gaskets instead.


The rest of the exhaust consists of a 2.5 inch Magnaflow system (Part number 15816 for 67-70, 15815 for 64.5-66)

Thanks, I'm gunna check into those...only problem is my tranny is automatic and alot of the dealers i've called said its gunna make a big difference on what I can use

These headers cleared the C4 that was in the 67. The C4 was later replaced with an AOD. I dont remember much of the AOD install, but there wasnt much of a fuss with regards to clearance between the headers and transmission.

awsome...going to order them in a few weeks, got so caught up with the heads cam and intake i forgot all about the headers
