      holley 4011

i got a holley 4011 carb for free helping my buddy do an engine swap on his truck. anyone know anything about these? he said that it was too much carb for his stock 305 motor. i heard they only came in two sizes and i'll probably buy a rebuild kit and put it to use.

I ran one for years on my nova, a 600cfm vac sec on a 283. I remember it being easy to work on, took standard holley parts. some were plastic and broke easily, but the main body and top were a tumble polished aluminum that looked good and didn't leak.
IIRC they've been out of production for years now, don't know if parts will be easy to come by.

good to know.. this thing looks brand new. i guess the owner prior had just put it on when my buddy acquired the truck. The carb had been on his shelf in the box of the edelbrock he swapped it with for a few years. the rebuild kit is 55 bucks...

Carb kit for thses are avaiable and once tuned are great units.

I've set up & modified them to fit most apps.

Summit now offers a knock off copy of them in there own line of carbs.

Wish I could get a good kit for my 84017 800 cfm 4011 spreadbore.
Wonder if Summit kits would fit mine, or if they actually make one for something similar.
      Worked awesome on my 402!

The Summit carbs are actually a copy of the 4010 which is the squarebore version.

Anyone interested in a 4010/4011 let me know as I have one for sale. I pulled it off my customers car because it was too big for the engine. Worked perfectly fine otherwise. I can't remember if it was spread bore square bore and I can't remember the size. I want to say it was a 700 or 750 cfm model. I looked all this up a while back but don't remember it off hand. Obviously, I'll get the info if anyone is interested. I'll make a thread in the for sale section. I just saw this thread and though I'd offer it up. You don't see these everyday that's for sure.

IIRC, they came spread bore, squarebore, vac sec, mech sec, and 600cfm and 750cfm.
but I am remembering back 20 years ago (OMG, has it REALLY been that long?)

Holley dropped them due to poor sales. I had a 4011 and had nothing but trouble with it. Sent the first one back since it leaked right out of the box. Its replacement had an issue with the power valve channel not being completely drilled through. Mine had annular boosters. I think I ended up giving mine away too.

well i'm going to be using it on a 355SBC 96 block with ported vortec heads 10.5:1 compression and the cam was ground to a comp cams design.. i dont know a whole lot about the engine. it was built by one of my coworkers from the P8 posidon for his corvette. he went another way with the project and i got it on the cheap... he ballparked it at 360-400 horse.
