What look are you going for? Stock-ish? (if that’s a word) But if you’re looking for a cool 4bbl intake, go to: sprectreperformance.com. I have this set up and it looks very cool and clean.

      You are awesome!

That is what I was originally looking for but couldn't find and started considering other options.

Hector - I'd considered that, and like those too. I'm not sold on the looks of the Spectre stuff, and know I don't need anything polished.

I have to say, since that intake install i've had a HP gain. They also mocked up another set up, but not sure if its for sale yet. I'll try to get a pic from them to send you.

Thanks. I've learned so much on this board over the years, it feels good to give a little back.

We did this here at work (from scratch).

My original thought was the dual snorkel kind of setup...then I started considering that my alternator and A/C compressor will be in the way. And if I were to do it, I'd want to keep the regular style sir filter, and route ducts to the inner headlight openings in my grill. Which means cutting holes and making brackets, etc.

I think it will be much easier for me to use this piece from Ram Air Box, and fabricate the rest to meet up with the existing hole in my firewall.

Wow! Where was this setup two years ago! LOL! I used the spectre modular setup, but that is way cool. Polishing is no fun BTW!

      Hey Ron,

You can still upgrade your tubes with the custom air box. go on their web site and contact them for a list of the extra parts you need. But you would need to relocate the battery.

I got to looking at these setups.

The closeouts for the intakes are designed to work with a pretty specific type of radiator support aren't they.

If it is designed how I think it is, when the hood comes down the gasket at the top of the closeouts will come into contact with the hood and block the hot air from the engine bay from entering the intakes.

But, it seems that 90% of the aftermarket radiator supports want to go right over the same area as that closeout, I am really seeing it in the second setup you showed chevyhector.

Am I looking at that right?

i would like to answer that question David, but I would not have an answer. Spectre would be the guys to ask. How i understand it, is that it is a functional air box and it is separate from the engine compartment air flow. let me ask...

David, This is what Spectre sent me.

      ***Hector,

At this time, I think you should let them know that it’s a prototype and you haven’t even seen it in person yet. Suggest that they email [email protected] with any specific questions and we’ll do our best to answer them. As for the aftermarket radiator supports, I am not familiar with them so we’d need pictures to be able to tell if they’d fit or not. ***

      OK?
