Howdy! 69 Firebird in N. Georgia

Hi all! Found this site a few months ago after purchasing my '69 Firebird project. It's amazing how much great info is here.

The car came as project with the engine and trans removed but came with the car. The body has some rust issues caused by the original vinyl roof. It is currently set-up as a drag car with ford 9" rear and mini spool. The engine that came with it is a ZZ4 chevy and TCI 400 with manul shift.

My first order of business is to fix all of the rust....new roof, left quarter, deck filler panel, floor patches and some trunk work. I have all of the parts now.. and in process of cutting...etc..

After body work.. I'll move on to the running gear and suspension. Long term I want to convert back to pontiac power, but will probably run the ZZ4 for a while so I can get it back on the road sooner.

Looking forward to participating in the forums and learning from everyone!

I'll post some pics when I figure out how to do it.

      Cheers,
      Brian

Thanks guys. I'm really stoked about this project. I can't tell you how many hours a day I think about it. I'm really hooked!

After getting the body solid again...I'd really like to convert it to a manual trans (5 or 6 spd) and upgrade the front suspension with some new control arms and coil overs...one step at a time of course!

Welcome to the forum. I'm just down the road from you in Woodstock. Road Killer Customs is a sponsor here in our backyard too and putting on a get together in a few months. Come on out.

The car reminds me of my old Le Mans blue '69 RS, wish I still had that one. Good luck on the build.
