      does this look right??

I just finished installing my Baer tracks on my 12 Bolt Diff. It looks like the brake pads are only touching halfway? Does this look right to you?? Looks like I have the wrong size mounting brackets or something. The rotor doesn't look big enough but it's the actual size the kit came with.

Any idea where to turn from here?

You should probably send those pictures to Baer to see what they say because that is definately not right.

My best guess would be that your brackets are for a larger diameter rotor. Maybe two inches larger. Like Herb said, contact Baer for their help.

From the looks of it the cal is too far out, not a too small of a rotor issue. The cal should be further in towards the hat. Im sure Baer will help. JR

I wanna say you got a braket issue or a wrong size rotor.Your caliper should sit way more in toward the hat. I bet if you bought the kit though baer they will make it good.

Oh, and on a side note. If you bought the entire setup from Baer then there may have been a packaging error. From what I understand they have been in the process of moving some of their facilities. I ordered some Baer tie rods in october and they finally came, been on back order for a few months. But once the parts were available to them they shipped it out pronto, and great shipping to boot. JR

Just curious did you check and make sure you have the Calipers on the correct side of the car?

Maybe the bracket is on the wrong side of the axle....L vs R

That might position the caliper too far away from the centerline causing what you have there. (flip the bracket over or switch sides)

      That is just my guess.

I used to have basically the same brakes on my car - not BAERS, but 93-97 Z/28 brakes. (pretty sure they're the same thing) I was surprised at how little of the rotor was actually used, but it was definitely more than that!

Thanks for the input guys..I got in contact with Baer, e-mailed the pics I have posted here. Talked to a guy named Chuck, Chuck said he needed the part number on the brackets and for me to measure the diameter of the rotor. After all that it was determined that indeed I have brackets made for 13 Rotors and I have 12 Rotors. Now I have to wait untill they find a pair so they can send them to me.
