Nice placement - are you going to see the filler tube in the bed?

Good to hear I wasn't out of my mind putting it in there!

Nope, you wont see any of the tube. There's quite a bit of room between the quarter panel and the inside of the bed. I'd be working on that tonight but the weather sucks and I can't get around the car without the door open, haha

More tank involved work. There wasn't going to be any easy way to make the filler tube without access to inside the quarter, so I cut a big hole and got rid of any evidence of the rib that used to be there. I pictured the other side for reference as I didn't take a "before" shot.

Tube made...I reworked the end to better fit to the tank but didn't get any pictures there either.

With the tube finished, I closed up the hole some to add some of the strength back. I'll make a plate that bolts on to cover it up, much like the access panels at the rear for the tail lights. Will have to make a little bubble at the bottom to clear the tube but it should all stay pretty low profile.

Also remade the door over the battery and skinned it.

      Thanks Herb!

& thanks Impala guy, nice car you have too.

The front suspension got a nice kick in the pants yesterday. I love Craigslist! Listed as "'67 Chevelle front suspension", it was stock lower arms, tall Camaro spindles with full disc brakes, fabricated upper arms, and QA1 coilovers. The coil overs will make their way to the Elky as soon as the new springs show up. The upper arms will go on the car when I eventually do a tall spindle conversion (aftermarket 2" drop) and bigger brakes. Luckilly I have a spare A-body I can put my current parts to good use on The spindles and brakes will be sold to make a little $$ back.

Based on these recent purchases and the desire for bigger brakes, my entire front suspension is now for sale!

Not much happening right now. Made a new hood ornament just for the heck of it. Slightly taller, longer in front, shorter in the back, pointier...just different!

The latest photoshop. If you haven't seen the thread I put in the photo section....there's some goofy stuff going on with the back end of the car that I am excited to get started on.

I'm shortening the car 5.5" in the back. Got started cutting last night and wrapped it up after work today. I still need to shorten the frame but will wait until I have the new rear crossmember welded into place before I cut the framerails.

No turning back now. I am a huge fan of this build and I really like the fact that you are thinking outside of the box and then shortening the box.
