      Another Canadian Eh!!! AMC PT????

I have been a car lover my whole life and have had too many cars to mention (70+). This past summer I acquired my current car and enjoy it alot! Not sure whether I would classify it as pro-tour but I really can't see where else it would fit. It is a 1979 AMC Spirit with the AMX spoiler, grill and wheels which have been replaced with some 17" Torque Thrusts and BFG rubber. It has been lowered, custom prolink style rear suspension, frt and rear sway bars, posi, poly bushings, 360/300hp, T10 4 spd, 8pt roll cage, 5 pt belts, frame and chassis re-inforced, Recaro seats etc, etc.
I have been a licensed auto/heavy truck technician for 25+ years and currently employed in Kandahar, Afghanistan where I am in charge of the Crash Truck fire apparatus there. I am currently home recovering from a few injuries suffered over there and hope to be returning soon. In the meantime like the rest of us Canadians I will be waiting for the nice weather to return to get my car back out on the road.

Your Spirit looks awesome especially with the new shoes. I also like how your garage door motor matches, its that attention to detail that will set your ride apart from the other.

Do you have any underbody pics?

Welcome to the forum, that car is definately a pro-touring car. Good to have another cool AMC project on the board too. Not that many of them on here.

Very nice AMC. Looking forward to spring also. Hopefully I will have one of my Javelins on the road by then!

I saw this car at the AMO International Meet in St.Louis last summer. Neat car built by Harm Vanderveen.

Yes he did a great job of the car thats why I had to have it! It still has the Northern Customs decals on the windows and whenever anyone asks about the car I give him the credit for the work.
