      Woo Hoo, got a job!

Accepted a position this morning as a mechanical designer at a company in Springfield that manufactures hermetically sealed shipping containers. Pending backgound checks and drug sreening, I start on the 11th. Finally after 9+ months. I'll sure miss the free time but maybe I'll be able to afford some parts for the mustang now.

Congrats. I had a 6 month skid and know how much a toll that can take.

right on brother, now take a look at a guy by the name of Dave Ramseys web sight, follow his steps and things will get even better.
It took me changing jobs twice, and now in sucky job but after payday Ill be even with all my bills as of end of year, after nearly 3 years.
And that was nearly 2 yrs of starving.
Now I am looking at even starting my own shop soon too.

Thanks guys. I just kept plugging away. I kept checking postings everyday, mostly twice a day and even on sundays and Christmas day. This particular position happened differently than the current trends. Most are finding a job through networking and contacts (which I was doing) but this was a simple listing on careerbuilders I applied for, interveiwed for a week later (the 23rd) and was told they wanted someone to start right after New Years. Was just up talking with them earlier this afternoon doing the drug screening and preliminary paperwork.

Meant to mention. I spent a good portion of my income over the past year before my layoff paying down debt. I am sitting well enough my unemployment pays my bills and gas in both cars and my wife's 2 part time jobs buys the groceries. There wasn't much left over for anything else.
