      Ohio Mustang latamud

      Hi all,

I've been a member for a while but haven't posted here yet. Some might recognize the car from the mustang sites I frequent. I started building my 66 Mustang coupe in 2002 and thought I was done in 05. A buddy of mine told me about the Hot Rod Power Tour and I went in 2007 and had a blast. So I started tearing into the car again and haven't stopped yet.

I bought the car for $400 and started its transformation. I've gone through 4 different engine combinations, 302, 331, 351w and 408 Clevor.

The car started out with a C4 auto which I quickly swapped for a T5 when I had the 351w. With the 408 I was hunting for a TKO600 but for the same price I found a Viper T56 locally.

Comparing the Viper T56 to the Ford T5 I figured a T5 bellhousing was the perfect depth so i made an adapter to mate the two.

      I clearanced the shock towers

After HRPT07, I found a great deal on a Cobra IRS locally so I decided to get rid of the Versailles 9".

The IRS is 3" inches wider than the 66 rear so I decided to use
deeper backspaced wheels. The 03 Cobras were a good fit with 275/40-17s.

The flares I tried to make looked good but didn't give any real clearance.

To balance out the car I had to run 275's up front too, and flare it.

The front flares mocked up, pieced together 13" disc brakes on Granada spindles.

Right now I'm still blending the flares into the 1/4 panels

This is where I'm at with the project now. I have another project on the side I'll post pics later. Its a 96 Mustang GT Vert I'm dropping a 66 Mustang coupe body onto. I'm calling it my 66/96 Project. I know the SN65 is a similar build but I'm doing it on a tighter budget.
