Car (68 Camaro) painted, whats next?

Took me 4 years to get the bodywork done and the car painted.
Finally I can start the fun stuff.
What sequence do you do the build up of the car.
Engine first and than the wiring and next the interior?

      Any suggestions?

I know how you feel. It took 2 years to get my TA painted. The deal I got made it worth the wait. I was luck to be able to drop my engine and trans in when the front end was off. Be careful. The first nick will make you cry! I know. I broke my leg and was on crutches and fell into my car. Thank the lord, it only chipped my mirror. An easy fix. Now, my TA is back in the shop getting a Heidt's G-machine suspension. Can't wait for spring.

      I would start with
      1)the dynamat the interior
2)wire the car. so you have easy access to inside engine compartment and trunk to hide wires.
3)Install the steering components(so you can move car around
4)Install the weatherstripping, glass and all the trim pieces.
5)Install the rest of the interior
      6)install engine
7)install all engine assesories(radiator, battery starter trans etc.)

make sure to invest in moving blankets to cover areas that may possibly damage paint.

      kinda get the idea

Don't forget to install the glass at some point. Just make sure to think everything out and don't rush anything. I acutually didn't install my fenderwells until everything was wired up, and all plumbing was done and the engine ran. It is much easier to work in the engine compartment without fenderwells.

I am in the process now of reconstruction of a 65 GTO after 14 months at the body shop. I did have the engine already in the car when it went to body so heres how I proceeded so far
      1. installed header panels, grills, headlight bezels
      2. weather stripping retainers around door, vent windows, door weather stripping, door handles, door mirrors
3.trunk weather strip, hood to cowl seal
4 dyna mat WHOLE car -this took about 100+ hours
      5. run new Painless wiring, all enclosed in split loom (85% done)
      6. front and rear bumpers with lights(marker and back up)
      7. Run all new brake lines ( disc conversion just before body shop)
8.Dash gauges and wiring and steering wheel so I could then place the drivers side seat in the center (06 gto seats)
      9. weld in new seat mounts
      10. run vintage air system( about 80% done)
      11. install gas tank, connect sender unit
now all I have left is:
fuel system, install all glass, install all interior, hook up ecm (04 LS1) rocker panel moldings, wheel well molding, windshield and back glass trim, connect heating, connect ac, hook up power steering, finish steering linkage, install battery, install stereo, headliner, install radiator and fan, make a cold air intake, make center console
damn I need to win the lottery so I can quit my job and work all day on this
by the way your car looks badass
