Here ya go... these wheels always strike me one of 2 ways... either race badass, or just too visually busy. Strangely, I can't decided in this case. Whatcha think?

Buddha , now that you mentioned the stock car look, that car would look cool with the old nascar look, black wheels, cage, hood pins , aluminum spoilers etc.

I would go with the TTD's, but it seems like every freakin classic out there has them. i love the look, just want something different. the Shelby's would be different for my style car. But i also wanted to go with something a little more Euro-Touring. What sucks is I passed on a great set of 15x7 mini-lites at a swap meet for $120...couldnt get the guy to $100 so i walked. Not that they are that different from everyone elses ride...just a great deal. Cleaned and polished they would go for much more than that if i didnt decide to use them.

Hey Dark, I really appreciate all of the renderings you have done on my project. Could I bother you for one more? Trying to see what vintage wheels look right cause i dont think the wheels I want are going to work out. Here is the wheel. Thanks again and the renderings are top notch!

Darkbuddha: Any chance you could throw this set on the Comet for me?

      Darkbuddha,
Your skills are excellent--especially paintwork. If I may make one suggestion: Try rotating each wheel & tire layer until the "camber" better matches the picture. You can also "squeeze" the wheel layers by scaling horizontally or vertically until the perspective looks just right. Send me your photoshop layer file and I can show you what I mean.

As for the Comet, I like the "Eleanor" Edelbrock wheels best.

Thanks for the compliment. I know what you mean about the wheel camber thing. I've become more aware of that over the last few weeks. I've been using a combination of scaling and using the transformations like "skew", "distort", and "perspective", which I wasn't doing very much when I did these Comet pics. The perspective transformation has proven very effective of late, especially when folks have asked for less common wheels for which finding decent angled pics can be tough.

Yeah. Try rotating the wheel/tire layer first. Get the planes parallel, then squeeze or stretch.

Man that is a clean looking Comet!!! And everyone is doing some super shops on it!!! I like the signal removed and I like the Halibrandt version. As for offset I am useing a set for the late model Japanese cars (Lexus/Nissan,ect) 32/35mm if I remember right. Convert the inches to MM's and look around Ebay,I just typed something like ...18" wheels 114.3(ford BP in mm) x5 this will show you everything on there.Find the wheel you like and see if it is available in the right offset.

That does look bad a**. I agree with Steve on the wheels. The "Eleanor" wheels look the best, so far that I've seen.

Restomod: Do you have pics of your setup with the 18's? Also, I had thought of purchasing 1989-2001 or 2002-2004 Mustang wheels and buying the adaptors from a classic Mustang parts shop. But if you think its possible to find Euro or even Japanese rims to fit, that leaves me some great options. I like the Eleanors the best, but at $400 a wheel, i will have to wait until next year for those. This project is on a tight budget. I spent extra on the car to get a straight clean car. I can pick up a set of 17's with tires, mounted balanced and shipped for free for $700 and 18's at $900 a set with tires, balanced and shipped, but its Euro or Jap. offsets and backspacing.

I finally got around to doing the Saltflat wheels. I kinda like it a lot.

Oh, and if you'll let me know who makes those other wheels I might be able to 'chop those as well.

Sorry the car is on my rotisserie right now. Just remove your wheels and measure everything,I found mine just like I said in my last post. Just took some time online (mostly ebay tons of wheels there)till I found what I liked.

Sport Max makes them and they are model 962. Thanks again for the chops! Trying to find a good wheel and tire combo that works on the cheap is allot harder than I thought. SO far, the Eleanors are beating everything out, but at that price they're just going to have to wait.
