Best Show Ever Last Night, Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

I have tell the entire world. I went to the greatest show ever last night, and while I had high expectations, I was still a bit surprised. These guys blew the roof off the place!

      Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

I have been to some pretty big shows 48 years, I am a concert nut and have seen most of the biggest names. I have seen Kiss! Van Halen when they were young. The Stones. Been backstage for Motley Crue in the 80s. Seen Metalica every chance I get, Hell I have been backstage for the Genitorturers!

NOTHING, Nothing, nothing compared to the show last night. They fricken kicked ass with a awesome light and video show and hard hitting Orchestra music for 3 hours!

We had good seats and were only $37. I could have had row AA for $150 a seat, and next time I go I will pay whatever price for front and center.

They sold out 2 shows here Saturday. They are heading to Tampa tonight and I just tried to find tickets for the Tampa show, no chance of that.

So if you ever get the chance, GO!

If you have no idea who they are, I am certain you will recognize this song and many others if you got through You Tube.

Damn... I wish I could have gone to see that show. I'll look into getting tickets for next year. I've always heard it's an awesome show. And I also wish we could get the rigging job on that one. Looks amazing.

Can you really get any cooler than a metal band playing Christmas themed music with an live orchestra? lol yeah these guys and gals rock. I'll get to see them one day. I still need to go to a Rush show and Tool before either one call it quits

I can't believe they play every state around here but Georgia.
From the schedule it appears they have 2 touring companies.

I am still learning about the band. Being their new biggest fan, I did some research today and it looks like they use some different people in the shows on different sides of the country. They introduced the orchestra as locals which makes sense. But I also see the violin girl in Mary's pic is different then the violin girl we had last night. Also appears they only tour in November and December.

Now this is funny, I told Lisa last night during the show that looked like a million dollars stage. On their website, it says it is a TWENTY million dollar production! Shows you want I know LOL!

Yeah, productions like that can get quite expensive. I know the U2 tour was something over a million a show and they had three sets running around. One would be set up while the other two would be going to the next two cities. I also heard there were something like 200 trucks on that gig. Crazy.

TSO puts on one of the greatest shows I've seen. They do use different people in the show depending on where they are. My brother has a buddy that sings with them when they are in the Midwest. I was hoping to go when I got back to the states in another week but the only tickets remaing are sidestage, if that.

I think side stage would suck

Try stubhub.com. Side arena would be OK, this is one show i would rather have a farther seat for. And I damn sure would not want floor unless it was row one, and I am rethinking that.

Their stage choreographer must be a mad scientist kind-of person.

Definitely rethink center front seats unless you love loud, Loud, and more LOUD!!! Our seats were perfect as we were directly in front but back and high enough to keep our hearing intact, and had the floor and row seats in front as well. The HP Pavilion (Arena) in San Jose, CA is excellent as there were no bad seats anywhere. The pictures were taken with my small Canon (no flash) on the Indoor setting. Some came out blurry but most were as you see above.

To those that didn't get a chance to see TSO in person ... this should be a must-do for 2010. What was a huge bummer was there were so many empty seats for our performance. I'm guessing the Pavilion was not even two-thirds full, if that.

We've got tickets for the Elton John/Billy Joel concert in February and can't wait for that ... never seen Elton live before and it should be an awesome show.

      Cheers,
