      ls1/th400 combo

yea i know im gonna get flamed but i think i would like to ditch my t56 for a built th400 in my carbed ls1 69 camaro...

i was wondering if anyone runs a lsx/th400 combo.

i was looking and i dont think i have room for the dip stick tube to come up past the firewall. im just dreaming at the moment.

also does anyone know how well the trans lines up with the stock th400 cross member using s&p (carshop) plates?

If your engine is stuffed in closer to the firewall than stock then you'll just have to buy a universal flexible dipstick and tube from Lokar, no big deal. Otherwise a stock TH400 dipstick and tube will work.

Trans crossmember should be easy too, a stock repro TH400 crossmember should be readily available, just move it back on the subframe a little if necessary and you're good.

Should be an easy install. If you don't need an overdrive and are tired of shifting a manual trans then the TH400 is a great choice.

If you decide to go w/ TH350 I have a built one that I swapped for a t56... It only has about 40 miles on it. Also have the crossmember, stainless lines, etc.
