      New Member and PT Gremlin

Hi, I'm in the (slow) process of building an AMC Gremlin with the idea of Pro Touring in mind. I did a google search of "pro touring Gremlin" and came across a thread on here. I have heard of this site before and read threads from it, so I figured I would join and share a few pics of my project.

I'm working on this project with my dad, I'm a college student right now, so time is limited and funds are not very large, but we want to build this car the right way the first time. My dad has a shop where he does the sheetmetal work on 1st Gen Camaros (full floors, mini-tubs, quarters, smooth firewalls) and also does more custom work like stainless exhausts and rear suspensions. We're excited to have a car that people don't see too often even if it will be a lot of extra work to do custom stuff for it.

Even though some kind of LS motor would be great, $$$ and simplicity lead us to decide on a basic small block set up with nothing too crazy. The exact engine plans are still up in the air, and a lot of other work needs to be done before I have to worry about the engine.

Welcome to the forum. Myself and a few others have been waitng for someone to build one of these. I had one so I know what they are like. I know they handle fairly well and that they have won championships in the IMSA RS series so they can be made to reallly handle well.

      Welcome

Nice to see something different being built into a pro-touring ride, good luck with the build.

Cool project! When I was in high school there was a guy in town (Fair Oaks California) that had a 340 in a Gremlin. Great looking car, and very fast!

I know where one of those cars are sitting not far from me. After seeing the ideals I might just go pick it up for a little project
