Powder coating question

I have a large stock pot maybe 3 or 4 gallons. Last year I had it too full and the coil burner burnt through the epoxy or whatever it kind of coating it is exposing bare metal.

I like the pot and was wondering if the existing damaged coating could be removed and replaced with a powder coat. What do you think something like this would cost? It might just be cheaper to junk it and get a new one.

I would be very hesitant to use normal powdercoat on anything that will see a stovetop. The coating on those pots is usually a type of porcelain or heat stable enamel finish.

What about the ceramic coatings? I'm not sure what the coating was that's on there it is like a dark blue with some type of white or off white spec. I'm thinking it will probably find the junk pile and I will pick up another one.

Yeah, when we accidentally burn a pot like that it usually get sent to second string duty, stuff like deep frying on the bbq grill's burner or into the junkpile.

Any product you find no matter what it is must be food grade. I don't think it's worth your while to have it recoated.
