      Need 5.7 help

Is the chevy truck 5.7 the same as the ls1 motor in a camaro or gto? The intake is the only difference?

The truck motors are 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0 and all are iron blocks until 07-up, i think. 5.7 came in gto, fbody, vette. Scott

Weird I am at a swap meet in Stockton an a gy has a 5.7 out of a 2006 tahoe motor for sale, it's an aluminum block and it only has 16,000 miles on it an i'm trying to talk him down in price. All of the ls1 intakes an ect will bolt on to this motor like the 5.3 right?

The intakes are interchangeable, but the LS1 intake will not work with the truck accessories. 06 tahoe did not come with 5.7, nor did any of the trucks that I know of. If you look on the back of the block inside the bell housing area, it should be stamped 5.3, 5.7 etc. I know most of the 07 5.3's are aluminum blocks, but not sure if 06 was aluminum or steel.
