      Apparently it's not the same platform as the G8 - It's supposed to be a left-hand-drive version of the long-wheelbase, Zeta-platform Holden Caprice/Statesman.

      Since GM hasn't made a viable police car since 1996 it would be refreshing
      1971 Camaro, 383 stroker ~500HP,M21 Trans with lightened flywheel. All Sorts of Auto-x Goodness in the Suspension. 12" Brakes ->SOLD

      That's not it, but there are reports that the G8 will live on as a police-only Chevrolet. It's hard for me to imagine it'll be self-sustaining without a civilian version, though.
