      Some Front Suspension Qs?

      Hi all,
I have QA1 front coilovers for my 69 Camaro, is it a direct bolt-on replacement without any modification???? Can i use them with Global-West upper A-arms???

What kind of steering box would anyone recommend???
What is the widest rim size i can use with the Global-West upper arms??

      Thanx

I just put the DSE 600 box in my 68 firebird, and can tell you that I've been very impressed with the feel - its on all stock parts with new poly bushings, etc.

I can now steer with one hand and don't feel like I'm always correcting where the car wants to go.

I'm getting new wheels / tires next week and expect the steering feel to improve even more...

      Danial,

I will assume that you have the QA1 coilover conversion for the first gen. Yes the GW uppers will work with your QA1s. One thing you may want to thinks about is beefing up the lower where the QA1s bolt into. With the QA1s all of the weight of the front end is now on the two bolts holding to shocks to each lower control arm. That is a little scary to me. You could get the GW lowers control arms to help with that.

The DSE box is good. That is what I have on my car. Also, www.leepowersteering is a great box. A third gen power box will also fit in your 69.

The widest tire that can fit is a 275. There are two members of this board that are doing it. To get that size rquires steering stops. That widens the turning radius. There can be some clearance issues with the wheelhouse and fender lip as well. I am putting a 255 on a 8.5" rim. The most common is a 245 on a 8" rim.
