      Project "Money Pit" from Kentucky

      Hello all,

My name is Steve from Hazard, Kentucky. I am currently working a Fremont built 67 SS Chevelle i am callng "Project Moneypit". Currently the body is off the frame and the car will be built back with every nut and bolt being replaced. I just got my frame back from the powdercoater and have started bolting on my new suspension components which consist of Lee 670 steering box, AFX spindles, SPC a arms, Spc springs, bilstein shocks, currectrac trailing arms, and C5 front brakes from Kore3, and ls1 rear brakes. I havent picked out wheels yet, and this is something that i will need help with. I want to keep the rest of the car pretty much stock looking as far as the exterior and interior. I've read and read already on this site and love the information. I'll be sure to post some pics once i start getting some stuff back together. Im hoping to have my car done by late next spring. Due to work, I have limited time to work on my dream machine.

Welcome to the site, Steve. Post some pictures of your project when you get a chance, it sounds cool.

What is your budget for wheels and tires? That will help to narrow down the available options as they are plentiful. If you've got the cash (~ $4,000 per set) Forgelines are pretty much the pinnacle of 3 piece wheels and are the preferred choice of many members of this site.

Thanks for the welcomes. My budget for the wheels and tires is about half that for now. I really like the look of the Center line Retro wheels from their Legend Series but dont know about using these with my afx spindles and C5 brakes yet. I'd really like to go with a 17 inch wheel even though I know 18's would open up many more options. I really like the wheels and stance on this Buick and the wheels look like the centerlines. Does this car belong to a member of this site? It is on the SC&C website.

I believe the owner of that car is a member of this site, but I'm not sure how frequent he visits. I'm pretty sure he lives in Queens, NY. If I recall correctly, those wheels may actually be by Billet Specialties or Budnik. Several wheel manufacturers offer a similar style to that, however.

      Steve,

I did some digging and I'm pretty sure that is George's car. George's username on PT.com is "staged67gspwr"

Here's a link to his profile:

Perhaps you could send him a PM and see if he could provide you some info on the wheels.

Thanks guys, I sent him a PM. I'll get some pics posted as soon as I get a few things together. Not too much to look at right now, but a million parts. I've not had much time to spend on my car due to work.
