      A keeper

Call me sentimental or a moment to reflect on what I have in life.

A different kind of keeper -

Never having a father in my life I had to figure things out on my own. I didn’t have the dad who liked to tinker on stuff and teach me to work with my hands. This car represents a constant struggle of trial and error through more challenges then I care to admit to.

I bought the car in May of 2002; I had met the woman whom would become my wife the month previous. Within a day of taking ownership of the car I had it stripped and ready for paint. I spent countless days and nights going to college and working on the car with every spare minute. All of my spare money went to buying tools I didn’t have and trying to keep my girlfriend happy on dates.

I entered graduate school in 2003 and continued to work on the car. My wife and I moved out on our own with no real employment to speak of. We married on the same day of our first date and the 1 year anniversary of my proposal. Times were tough, with me in grad school and having a part time job detailing cars at a dealership. Money was so tight that I offered my Camaro to sell so we could pay bills; I knew I could easily get $15,000 quickly if I needed to.

At which time, my wife said to me the words that have caused my friends to ask, “Does she have a sister?” and echoed through my brain with a monstrous clap of thunder –

“No matter how tight money gets, we will never sell the Camaro”

Time has passed and we both have solid jobs. The Camaro never got sold and we are better off for it. I still have the wife and the car, I never had to make decision on which one to keep.

      They both are keepers.

Max, you are indeed a lucky man. Kudos to your wife.
PS: Does she have a sister?

      She is a keeper.

The only problen I have is my GF complaining about my Camaro not being on the road yet. She wants some seat time bad and that's cool, because she can row a manual better than most of my car buddies.

I forgot to mention that once we had a half bottle of bleach.

I asked her why she kept it and she says to me... "I figured you wanted to save it for a burnout or two"

      ...and she's cute too!

Nice selection, and the car is nice too.

Got me one of those too... She really likes the 72 C10 though. She could probably care less about my nova but wouldn't force me to sell.

My wife had more hotrods and a bigger toolbox than I did when we met.
When we started the company we borrowed 30k on HER credit cards..she chased low and no interest credit card deals for 4 years before we could run without them.

I get a lot of credit for building air ride Technologies...Sharon gets not enough credit for keeping the rest of our life together while it happened. air ride runs a poor third to Sharon and our 2 kids Andy and Sara.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to remember and share all that.

I think we met at the power tour. If so, "hi" again and congrats on landing the wife!
