      Just a little jealous

We have our big indoor car show this weekend. We're the host club. $5,000 first prize. You get the picture. They brought in George Barris again and this time he brought the Batmobile. Anyway, pre-show opening this afternoon they had to stash him in a back room for a while and they wanted one of our club folks to hang out with him. Since my wife was there working registration she got the assignment. She spent about an hour with George, one on one. She had some good stories for me tonight. He's a true gentleman and an icon of the hot rod scene. Lucky girl.

Cool. Everyone seems to say he is very nice.

I love that car in person, it's just so cool looking, and they built the 1st one in a few weeks. Maybe I'm biased because as a kid I watched that TV show on reruns everyday after elementary school, but I think that is the coolest car I ever saw up close in person.

My then 4 year old (now 9, yikes) with one of them.

The Batmobile began life as the Lincoln Futura concept car.

I met George at SEMA 2 years ago and he is a cool guy.
I am not useless, I can still be used as a bad example!

I've met George a few times over the years.

I wouldn't leave my poor wife alone in a closed room with him, though...he's a pervy ol' basterd...

You know, I don't know off the top of my head. I was so tired when we got to the ceremony my brain fuzzed out. I'll try to find out for you.

George seems nice enough in person but I don't trust much of what he says. He regularly takes credit for being involved with all kinds of stuff that he had nothing to do with. The Futura batmobile is one of the few Hollywood-car credits that is really his.
