Axle length calculator

I thought I'd recalled mention of an online tool for correctly calculating axle length in one of Rupp's articles. But I'll be damned if I can find it on Currie's or Strange's websites. Currie's site has soo much stuff it could very well be there and I'm just missing it. Strange's site is nothing but an online pdf of their catalog.

I have a Lateral Dynamics 3-link - Strange housing and 3rd member.

I need to calculate the correct axle lengths for this particular housing so I can order them. Looking for the appropriate measurement points.

Is it a Ford or Chevy? You need to know the distance from the center of the pinion to the end of the housing on each end. You need to know which brakes you will be using. Any good axle maker can take it from there.

It's a Ford 9" going in a chevy. The Strange housing ends are different lengths.

Just want to make sure I don't screw it up.

Jeep stuff was easy. Either equal length in the rear or there was a standard left and right axle length in the front.

currie has it on there website, you need to know the housing offset.
bearing offset is 2.480 or something lots of guys use 2.5 for offset number. i will find link

If you are using Ford brakes then the axle hang out will be 2 1/2 inches. If you are using Chevy brakes then the axle hang out will be 2 3/4 inches. Measure from the center of the pinion to each end of the housing. Give this information and the brakes that you will be using to the axle maker and they can make the axles from that. I can get you a set of Moser axles if you give me this information.
