Avatar option gives me this message when I insert the URL..

"The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 30000 bytes."

Under properties "Bikini" is 31490 bytes I think.

Is this something that can be changed as well???

It's still too big, I believe.. looks like 58x105 and I think the Avatar is limited to either 80x80 or 100x100, either way shrinking it a little further should get you fixed up - I would think even if it's shrunk to 100 high that would get you the 1500 bytes you're over.

Actually, by highlighting the pic it looks like most of the top quarter of the pic is blank space and could probably be removed. That would definitely get you small enough.

its still too big, 3100 kb. she's only 80 pixels tall for me.

It's strange that the biggest image that Tony posted is actually larger in size but lower in bytes???

That is indeed odd.

Tony, what software are you using to resize animated .gifs? I'm wondering if maybe a different software package would have some better compression?

That last one shoudl work since its only 58x80 pixels. Yeah Tony what are you using for those animated gifs? I can do it at home but not at work.

the problem is, as it shrinks the first image, the colors changed alot. as did the dpi. I'll try to compress and optimize it.

oh. and on my avatar screen it says anything over 2000 is too big.

Wow all kinds of new posts while I was editing that gif. Mine was done with Photoshop ImageReady. I think it was 18.6 KG

She still won't go into the custome avatar URL slot. It doesn't give me any error messages, the page just resets without changing??

Try right clicking on the avatar he made for you, then go to "properties" and copy the address(url) and paste it. That should work for sure.

it'll take a few tries kev. Mine did. if all else fails, save the pic to your harddrive and use the browse feature, then click save changes. It'll take forever for it to upload. But it does work.
