Yes, the steering wheel and hub were off the old parts pile so don't hold that against Twist. They had to start somewhere. I'll post pic with the install on the car when it gets here.

Yeah, you'll like it. Thanks. We do a lot of custom steering wheel adapters. Like Mopar Tuff wheels, Flamin River stuff, even a Triumph. But this was our first Trans Am wheel adaptation. Chris sent us a trashed wheel from his stash and we went to town. I can't wait to see it on a clean wheel with the horn button in place.

      Thank you for your business.

I love the idea of paddle-shifters in old muscle cars, I giggle like like a school boy when ever I see them! lol

I don't see why that would be too hard Brett, couldn't that function as an electric solenoid input?

Dante, Twist Machine makes a paddle shifter setup for cars running a GM electronic automatic. What you're looking at are the paddle shifters with a TA steering wheel mounted to them. That's a new setup. streetfytr68(Steve) owns Twist Machine.

Looks fantastic Steve. The GT wheel design just begs for the paddles to be behind it.

I wasn't going to comment until other TA owners had a chance to look but the one thing I love is that these paddles seem to belong there. Pontiac was always a performance divinsion after Bunkie got the reins and this looks to me like the natural evolution of what would happen if he was still calling the shots. Steve and Co. did a great job. I can't wait to get it in the car and start playing.

On an electronic trans, the paddle shifter/computer only shifts the forward gears: 1, 2, 3, 4; 4, 3, 2, 1. If you wish to paddle shift a pre-electronic transmission, safety is the biggest challenge. Actuation (linear actuator, servo, etc.) is the easy part. Making sure that actuator does not shift into neutral, reverse or park at speed is the challenge.

Mastershift has the safety features 100% figured out by way of brake pedal, neutral safety, and wheel speed sensors if you want to go the pre-electronic transmission route. A more detailed explanation of safety features can be found HERE

Easy enough solution. Buy the Quick time bellhousing for the 4L65E tanny. It bolts right to the BOP block and is SFI rated. Bolt it to a Bowler or similiar and have fun.

Bucks, I'm in deep again with the wife. I'm in Norwalk, Ohio for Pontiac Nationals. I bought a 1988 Fiero while I was here and it's on the trailer. She has to drive the 74 TA home for me now. I may have to build 2 or 3 patios to get out of this one.

Any one have suggestions on how to pro-street a Fiero?
