Thought this was neat from Painless wiring.

I got a catalog in the mail from Painless wiring the other day & thought this was neat:

      Description:
Bring your vehicle into the 21st century with this new convenience module. The Module's features include: A dome lightdelay that gradually dims the dome light after the door is closed. A headlight delay which leaves the headlights on for 15 seconds after the engine is shut off. A radio delay which leaves the radio (or other accessory) on for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off. This feature will also turn off the Radio (or accessory) when a door has been opened. An alarmn will sound if the turn signals have been on for longer than 2 1/2 minutes or if the headlight switch has been left on after the key has been removed. The Painless Convenience Module features state-of-the-art electronics and a simple straight forward installation.

I didn't like the price though. $332.95 from Summitt.

Still pretty cool. At the price a lot of this stuff is going for these days, I still like my idea of taking a newer used car and swapping internals to have all of these features.

Dakota Digital has had this type of setup for a few years now. Better price too!

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

Probably could. Some simple 555 timer circuits & relays.

I remember a few years ago there was a 55-57 Chevy that the guy took pretty much all of the electronics, drivetrain, suspension, & interior from a ZR1 vette.

So I wonder what it would take to use an existing BCM computer from a wrecked car to control the delayed electronics without using all body electronics.

We've got another thread going on a harness replacement system that has that and most of the other new car capabilities built in.
